Horse Racing tips: The best bets for EVERY Lyon Parilly race on Saturday

Nine to shine over in France today.

3.50pm – Pernilla

PERNILLA was defeated 1L on debut this course and distance when fancied and may go one better. Of the first starters, the market is the guide. Those to consider include Justitia, Standby For Chaos and L’Esquive.

4.25pm – Gold Trip

This doesn’t look an overly strong race for the level, so a chance is taken on GOLD TRIP. His trainer is enjoying a good spell at the moment and the son of Outstrip kept on gamely behind a well-regarded sort at Saint-Cloud last time. Influx won in dour style recently and should relish a test, Cleod’or will be having his twentieth start here, while Laocoon was really impressive when winning on his debut, but that success came at Langon Libourne, so will surely need a big step up to be involved here.

5pm – Flighty Lady

There are some interesting fillies in this but it rates a fantastic chance for FLIGHTY LADY to collect a pattern-race success. She produced two smart efforts in Group contests last year, the final one a third in the Prix Marcel Boussac, before being sold, and returned for new connections at Longchamp 23 days ago, posting a satisfactory run, and will surely be straighter for that outing.

5.35pm – Philanthrope

PHILANTHROPE is trained by Francois Nicolle and comes into this race with superior form to rivals. Contesting Listed hurdle races with a last start fifth Auteuil in May and is the clear horse to beat. Farces Attrapes has been lightly raced though does have a good record of two wins. Fitter for one run back this course last month second. Fanatic Mag finished second Lyon steeple in September. Holds each-way claims. Kap Love is a place hope.

6.05pm – Grand Glory @ 6/5

The small field could turn this into a tactical affair but GRAND GLORY makes the most appeal. She won her only start as a 2yo and then made nice progress the following year to end up finishing third in the Prix de Diane. Absent for 333 days, she slammed a decent field for a Listed event at Chantilly 23 days ago, coming home powerfully from off the pace, displaying the sort of class that suggests a race at this level can be taken with her.

6.35pm – Mango Baron

MANGO BARON will appreciate this level of contest and has been filling a placing in stronger races. Good chance. Galante D’Arthel has been behind the pacesetters past two and this is easier. Holds claims. Evron Danahill maintains a good record at this track. His best performances have been here. Might improve. Best of the rest is Gastibelza.

7.05pm – Indian Song

INDIAN SONG is one hurdle start for a win this course and distance in May. Horse to beat. Furimix was in the market on hurdle debut when he lost the rider. May pay to back-up. Sainseinoise delivered a decent run when fifth at Dieppe and may go forward. He La Voila should find this easier than Auteuil in May. Watch market on Rochepot.

7.35pm – Memory Dream

MEMORY DREAM won to this level three starts ago and then contested black type races. Easier and looks suited. Restiany hasn’t been seen since winning his maiden at Chantilly in November. Considered in this race though up one level. French Assel holds claims. Maintains a solid track and distance record. Best of the rest is Serkiyna.

8.05pm – Barbadin

BARBADIN finished a strong third over 2150m in a handicap two starts ago. Seems distance will suit. Stelvio ran well in stronger St Cloud hcp last start following on from a 2100m claiming victory. Can go close. Mandleft is thereabouts off this mark and has a chance for a first win. Both Hagar Bere and Chichiolina could fill a place.
