AXDAVALI was an impressive second on debut at Chantilly on May 13 when only beaten by 2L. If he runs up to that performance he could win here. The two first starters warrant consideration. A market watch on both First Folio and Ethiopia is required. Hard to recommend any other in this, but maybe Magic Sword to collect minor prize money.

13:35 Penny Whistle
PENNY WHISTLE won on debut at Angers on May 14 and she can win again here. Rose Gold was a solid second when beaten by a neck at Chantilly the day before and is a big danger. Of the others, Success Story can fill a placing and market watch on the first starter Jubilation.
14:15 Lord Wellington
This is a competitive race. LORD WELLINGTON has been placed past three in maidens and comes to a handicap for the first time. He is well suited to this test. Sous Les Nuages is also having a handicap debut run and has performed well enough to consider. Lighter weights to include are Lionel, By The Way and La Javanaise. Farout cannot be dismissed either following a handicap win in his latest, but he is up in both weight and class.
14:50 Ocean Atlantique @ 4/11
OCEAN ATLANTIQUE is an impressive maiden winner who followed up with a Group 3 third when only beaten by 2L at Longchamp 1800m and is certainly the horse to beat here. Nobody’s will appreciate the step up in trip and was placed in a Listed race on his last start, so he has a chance. Irska has had two starts for two wins and this is a logical progression from a St Cloud all the way win on May 12. Lord Achilles may pick up minor prize money.
15:25 Beaute Pour Toi @ 5/1
BEAUTE POUR TOI was impressive on debut at St Cloud coming from well back to win cosily. He might just be up to rising to this level and winning. Bionic Woman went from a maiden success to a Group 1 fourth. But, disappointed at a renewal on May 13. She can an come on from that though and has a chance here. Secret Time delivered a Group 3 second when beaten by a neck in September. This is the first run this year, so keep her safe for now. Place chances are Passefontaine and Porcelaine.
16:00 Ziyad @ Evens
This is a small field but interesting race. The top chance is ZIYAD who was a Group 2 course and distance winner last August. There are three main challengers in French King, who was a multiple Group winner last season, Way To Paris, a previous Group 2 victor and who is fitter for one run back, and the promising Villa Rosa, a track and distance winner who has won to Group 3.
16:35 Batwan @ 10/3
Most of these horses re-oppose from a Group 3 at Longchamp on May 11. The winner of that race BATWAN can progress further for us. Gold Vibe was second beaten by just a neck and does hold a Group 1 second in 2018. Sestilio Jet maintains claims, while Ken Colt has a good course and distance record.

In a small field of debutantes the market is the guide. On profiles the main chances appear to be CALCULATING (who is our selection), Remorse, Will Power and Rushdy.
17:45 Alikova @ 5/4
Fillies debutantes here, with the market as the guide again. The key ones to look at include ALIKOVA, where breeding doesn’t get any better, and Flaming Rouge, a high-priced yearling. Next two are Vaucelles and Fraoula.
18:15 Veritas @ 11/10
VERITAS is the horse to beat following a second at Chantilly when just beaten at this level over 2100m. He can go one better. Ajsaman put in a good run in the same Chantilly handicap and is a danger. Kongastet has been placed in his past two including this distance and is an each-way bet in this small field. Berets Verts could also fill a placing.
