Horse Racing Tips: Our traders pick 5 who’ll strive at Santa Anita tonight

We're heading way out west for five great bets on Sunday evening

Santa Anita

20.30 Mongolian Legend

Has placed on a couple of occasions and came in for huge support latest when disappointing connections and punters alike. That performance was too bad to be through and I’m certainly sticking with the legend in this race. The fact he was left off since suggests that trainer found a problem and if he reproduces best form he will go close here. Master Recovery was just denied by a neck latest over course and distance and is a big danger.

21.34 Atina (NAP)

Has moved to new stable and on Golden Gate form would take some stopping here. Now with Jeff Mullins she has won previously over the mile trip and maybe would even appreciate further. Heavily supported in recent starts she is proving costly to follow. I’m going to stick with her once more on the basis of new stable and also the fact she is dropped a lot in class. Also just the four rivals surely a win is on the cards and gets NAP selection.

22.38 Kingofjesters

Trainer Patrick Gallagher has had one runner in last 14 days and that won impressively so stable in form. The fact he has booked top jockey Flavian Prat for Kingofjesters debut is hugely significant and the fact he took the mount says it all. Also, the rest are well exposed and have shown nothing to note in their races. This really is as week a maiden race as your likely to see. My Super Mario ran poorly on debut and connections have wasted no time in getting him gelded so he could be a danger if it improves his performance on the track.

23.10 Sandal

Nothing to write home about in this maiden as some have shown nothing in racing to date and the rest are making their debut. Sandal runs on debut and is a half-sister to Qurbaan who won four times so breeding stands out in this contest. Even more significant however in a race like this is to go with stable and Michael McCart is a top trainer. Rakassah sets the standard on known form and has finished second in each of her last two starts and is the mount of aforementioned Flavian Prat.

23.42 Ce Ce

Grade 2 action and the race of the night. Looks a certain match between two old foes in the selection Ce Ce and Hard Not To Love. For me, I’m sticking with Ce Ce and top trainer Michael McCart. Winner of her last two starts in Grade 1 company at Santa Anita and at Oaklawn Park latest she is now dropping in class. Finished in front of her main danger Hard Not To love two starts ago so expect the same again. Don’t expect big odds but a winner’s a winner, as they say.
