Hello everyone and I hope you are having a cracking weekend gearing up for the mother of all barbecues Monday and hopefully the return of British racing.

I’m working on Stateside from 5pm to 9pm this evening on Sky Sports Racing, and during that gig I have picked out five horses who should take a bit of beating, including my Redknapp Trixie, on the demand of the former Tottenham hero Harry Redknapp!

It’s cracking US racing, with meetings from Gulfstream, Tampa Bay Downs, Laurel, Golden Gate and Santa Anita.

So let’s get to it.

In the opener Race 1 at Santa Anita at 8:30pm I’m hoping the one horse WARRIOR’S MOON will be an each-way price against two fancied runners, although if that is not the case nearer the time I will back her to win under Umberto Rispoli to small stakes.

The two market leaders both like to close in, but my challenger can get first run on them from the inside. She had a pipe-opener over 6f on the dirt the other day, but this turf track is what she likes at this distance of a mile. Indeed it was over course and distance she broke her maiden special weight tag.

Over at Gulfstream, if Holy Meister gets a run in the first on the card at 5:45pm then he will take some stopping in the 1m maiden claimer on the turf.

However, I think the one to lump on here is POLICY OPTION, the mount of Irad Ortiz.

Lightly-raced for Chad Brown having seen the track just twice, the selection was unlucky last time and would have been closer with a clear run. From a good draw has every chance today.

I’m going for some value in Race 3 at Gulfstream at 6:45pm with a horse called NOTHINS FREE. It might be well named. On paper the 5yo mare has a bit to find, but she’s got every chance of an uncontested lead and the likely favourite is very iffy at the trip. My hope might just wind things up from the front and be hard to pass under Mario Fuentes.

Meanwhile, at Tampa, I’M A G SIX (Evens) will hopefully hit the G spot in Race 2 at 6:08pm, an extended 1m handicap. The Antonio Gallardo-ridden runner just failed last time but had a couple of these behind and I can’t see any reason for a change in form. Looks a real solid challenger.

And finally, I have turned to Race 4 at Tampa at 7:08pm, a 7f claimer where they are in to be claimed for $12500. On the inside CLIFFY (11/4) take a massive drop in class and is another Gallardo mount. He ran terribly last time, but on any of his previous form he would have a great chance of outclassing this lot.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?

Matt’s Redknapp Trixie:

Gulfstream 5:45pm – Policy Option @ SP

Tampa 6:08pm – Im a G Six @ Evens

Santa Anita 8:30pm – Warrior’s Moon @ 9/2
