Only Jean-Claude Rouget has a better strike rate than Andre Fabre at Deauville, and while the former has just one runner on Sunday’s card, Fabre has plenty of chances to add to his record at the Normandy course.

Andre Fabre fancies

OCEAN ATLANTIQUE, who took his form to a new level when runner-up to Pao Alto in the Prix La Force at Longchamp, has easily the best form on offer in the Prix de Suresnes (14:50) and ought to be adding to his already impressive CV.

Meanwhile, Godolphin filly BIONIC WOMAN is taken to bounce back from her disappointing fourth at Chantilly earlier this month in the Prix de Lilas (15:25).

Fabre also has a couple of chances to end the day on a high, with the unraced son of Dubawi REMORSE in the newcomers race (17:15), and VERITAS in the card closer (18:15), both appealing as likely types.

As well as leading the race for the Cravache d’Or (French champion jockey), Pierre-Charles Boudot is also the leading rider at Deauville this season, with nine wins from his 30 rides. He takes the ride on WAY TO PARIS in the premier event on the card, the Grand Prix de Chantilly at 16:00.

Way To Paris shaped as if retaining all his ability when runner-up in the Prix d’Harcourt at Longchamp last time, finishing ahead of three of today’s rivals, and he looks more than capable of confirming that form and opening his account for the season.

The Prix du Gros-Chene at 16:35 has attracted entries from plenty of smart horses, and none more so than BATWAN, who has improved no end since being switched to the minimum distance.

He produced a career-best effort to land the Prix de Saint-Georges at Longchamp last time, going one place better than the previous year. He had most of this field behind him on that occasion, so he is taken to confirm that form and go in again. French King, who won a valuable handicap at Doha last time, is appealing as the most likely threat.
