You could win up to 1,000 quid on Thursday with Paddy’s Fantasy Horse Racing

Paddy Power are running another FREE fantasy US horse racing contest this Thursday, May 28th. The action starts with the first race at Gulfstream park at 5:45pm, so get your entries in before then!

It’s another mixed card with nine races on the turf and dirt at the Florida venue. Unfortunately, the wet weather we’ve had for the last couple of weeks looks set to continue with scattered thunderstorms in the area and there is a 60% chance of rain.

There are likely to be plenty of non-runners, so don’t forget to keep tabs on your stable. If you do have a late non-runner, you can always replace your selection with another runner. Just click on the “Quick player replace” tab to make a change, you can do this at any time before the race in question starts.

HERE’S A QUICK REMINDER OF THE RULES BEFORE WE TRY AND FIND SOME VALUE SELECTIONS.

Put simply, horses finishing in the top four places in each race are awarded points as follows:

W (Win)- 5 pts

P (Place- 2nd place)- 3 pts

S (Show- 3rd place)- 2 pts

F (Fourth)- 0.75 pts

The aim of the game is to collect the most points across the card. Do that and you net your share of £/€1,000!

You get an overall budget of €19 to use over all 9 races at Gulfstream Park.  The horse salaries range from €4 (big fancies) to €1 (outsiders) and you pick one horse each race.  No betting, no forecasts and no placepots. Just a simple “pick a horse” style.

So, we’ve set the scene, now let’s have a look at some value bets on the card.

The €3 Bankers

Race 1 – Field Bet – Returning from a long lay-off but taking a huge plunge in class and can lead them all a merry dance here.

Race 2 – Paladio – Nicely-bred newcomer who has been impressing in his morning work, has the red-hot Irad Ortiz on board.

Race 6 – Karen’s Cove – Impressive winner last time out and a repeat of that would be enough to land this

The €2 Value Runners

Race 3 – Aerodynamic – Consistent filly who can take advantage of a drop in grade here, also drawn beautifully in stall number 1.

Race 4 – Auburn – Has shown her best form on turf and is capable of a bold showing for her new stable now back on this surface.

Race 8 – Archumybaby – Veteran mare has had 12 wins in her career, she can make it lucky 13 here.

Race 9 – Wild About This – Was placed in a hot race last time out and can get amongst the points here again.

The €1 Bargain Basement

Race 5 – Amadora – Showed big improvement in her last race when she tried this trip for the first time. Looks the best outsider on the card.

Race 7 – St Joe Viper – Has won two of his last six races and is another outsider who can put in a bold show today.
