Pau 14.47 – Kenzya @ 3/1

Trainer David Cottin currently has a good strike rate. He is represented with two runners KENZYA and Delhi Chope. Both could improve. Hopalla Chocolat might progress from last week’s debut fifth at Moulins and watch the market on the remaining runners notably Dance WIth Devils.

Pau 15.27 – Paradise Island @ 10/3

On exposed form the horse with placings is PARADISE ISLAND and now has an opportunity to win. Danger is Call Gregorium who put in a better effort at Fontainebleau last start. Steeple winner L’Heure Du Crime is next best. Of the others maybe Yankeedoodlejohnny can be best.

Pau 16.02 Baxter Du Berlais @ 4/1

BAXTER DU BERLAIS is a last start course and distance winner who enters handicap (hcp) company for the first time. Can go well. Goodwin has shown ability in the past and is ready to break through. Holy Child has been consistent and finds the right race. Motu Fareone meets Jemsa on better weight terms for being beaten 5L and could reverse the placings.

Pau 16.37 – Disco Mome @ 8/1

Competitive race. DISCO MOME was beaten a nose on Saturday at Angers and can go one better. Buiseness Sivola has been facing stronger rivals and will appreciate this level. Diable D’Oudairies won a similar race at Compiegne two starts ago and may bounce back. Catch All has been placed past two at this level and is overdue another win.

17.12  Fidele Au Poste @ 2/1

FIDELE AU POSTE has a touch of class. Finished second at Compiegne two weeks ago beaten 1L and can go one better. Fortune Du Large is going through her grades well and wasn’t disgraced at Auteuil last start in March. Is in the mix. Doctor Squeeze has always shown plenty of talent and is a Listed winner two starts ago. Fitter although disappointing on Compiegne outing this month. Raffles Classic is the one who may be ready to progress. Could win without surprising.

17.47 Gesskille @ 9/4

GESSKILLE, one of two runners for Francois Nicolle, has performed well in three hurdle races and now switches to chasing. Can win. Gironde was an Auteuil hurdle winner in November and outclassed last start. Chance first up over the taller fences. Gratos De L’Isle is also from the Nicolle stable and should not be left out of the chances. Look for market support. General En Chef was a big 14L steeple winner at a country track on his second race start.

18.22  Toutezibure @ 8/1

TOUTEZIBURE secured an easy victory on hurdle debut last time out. Going up a level but looks a top chance in this. Sumsam won nicely on debut but fell on only start since. Can feature once more. Korevsky won a steeplechase in latest and may go close once more. Fancytastic found success in a Bordeaux hurdle when last seen and can be considered again.

18.57 Grandgador @ 9/2

This looks a competitive race. Even so it will revolve around the top two. GRANDGADOR was second at Auteuil in March and could go close. Glorice was 3L behind but meets Grandgador on 3kg better weight terms. Both are prepared by leading stables. Hard to split. Gambadeur Bleu is an interesting contender prepared by a trainer with a good strike rate. Also consider Garkapstart and Gamine.

19.32 Houston Bere @ 2/5

HOUSTON BERE went well on hurdle debut when third at Toulouse. Open to plenty of improvement and is the one to beat. Bathy Love fell on debut in a Listed hurdle at Auteuil and is well worth another try coming down in grade. Shentri was eighth on debut behind a stablemate. Can improve and is considered. Torsten pulled up on debut but may improve racing down a level.

20.07 Fontannes @ 4/1

FONTANNES has won back to back races including most recently at Auteuil by 1L. Similar event and looks a top chance. Grisy Apple’s finished second beaten a neck two outings ago in a G3 at Auteuil. Beaten 10L in a hurdle next time but could go close.

Punch Nantais fell in the G1 Grand Steeple-Chase de Paris back in May 2018. Top chance on old form and interesting upon return. Forland ran fourth in a G3 two starts back and is one to consider.
