Trainer Christophe Clement has posted extremely strong numbers at this Tampa Bay meet ( a 34 per cent strike-rate) and first-time-starter Hot Mist can further enhance that record. The selection has posted some strong workouts at her Payson Park base and will take plenty of pegging back if breaking well from the inside stall.
Tampa Bay 21:15 – Blazing Brooke @ 5/2
Blazing Brooke has been running consistently well over this course and distance, winning in February before finishing runner-up on her last three starts. She should be thereabouts once more and will give backers a good run for their money. Luna is up there on the shortlist too, while Honest Ginger can’t be left out of calculations either.

Barrel of Destiny produced a useful performance in beating a similar field to this last time and is taken to follow up that success. Haniel has been performing consistently and is another that should be thereabouts, while Callie California and Cape Laa Di Da are others to add to the shortlist.
Santa Anita 21:02 – Wishful @ 9/4
Wishful returns to her favoured dirt surface having run below form on turf last time, and in a race that should unfold at a tepid pace, she has enough speed to be within striking distance of the leaders. Donut Girl is ought to go well and is the second choice.
Santa Anita 22:35 – Go for a Ride @ 11/4
Go for a Ride makes his first start for the Ryan Hanson outfit, a barn that has strong numbers with new recruits, in this $25k claimer. His most recent effort in Grade 3 company is easily forgiven (outclassed over a trip that stretched him), and he can strike at first asking for new connections.
Santa Anita 00:38 – Heywoods Beach @ 5/2
Heywoods Beach showed improved form to be beaten just a neck into second last time and can get off the mark at the third time of asking in this maiden special weight contest. No Slo Mo makes some appeal on debut, while Frasard will also have claims if getting a run from the reserve list.
