19.09 – Cherokee Sound @ 4/1

A tricky contest and the safest bet may be CHEROKEE SOUND, who has gone very close in similar C&D events the last twice and remains open to improvement. There are no shortage of dangers, though, most notably Gauzy, Truly and Inedatequila.

19.41 – Uncle George @ 4/1

Caribbean Gold handled the drop from a mile when third over course and distance, with Allegedly Perfect and Sail At Sunrise just behind him. Thenextbestthing is interesting if ready to roll, but UNCLE GEORGE cost $310,000 as a yearling and is worth chancing on debut.

22.13 – French Quarter @ 11/4

FRENCH QUARTER has been campaigned over shorter on his last two starts and although running well, he is 2-3 over this distance and could prove difficult to beat under optimum conditions. Blakey was impressive on his penultimate start and may prove the biggest danger ahead of Cometin.

22.49 – Up in Smoke @ 5/1

Dream Marie and Tonalist’s Shape finished sixth and seventh respectively in the Grade 2 Fasig-tipton Gulfstream Park Oaks last time and have to be respected. However, UP IN SMOKE looks a very smart filly on what she’s shown in three starts at the track thus far, winning all of them, and this progressive three-year-old gets the nod under top pilot Luis Saez.
