We’re running another FREE fantasy US horse racing contest today, Thursday May 7th. Once again, the action starts with the first race at Gulfstream Park at 18:00, so get your entries in before then!
It’s another mixed card with 11 races on the turf and dirt at the Florida venue. Thankfully, the weather forecast is much better than last week. Instead of heavy rain we should get glorious sunshine.
Let’s have a quick reminder of the rules before we try and find some value selections. Put simply, horses finishing in the top four places in each race are awarded points as follows:
- W (Win)– 5 pts
- P (Place- 2nd place) – 3 pts
- S (Show- 3rd place) – 2 pts
- F (Fourth) – 0.75 pts
The aim of the game is to collect the most points across the card. Do that and you net your share of £/€1,000!
You get an overall budget of €23 to use over all 11 races at Gulfstream Park. The horse salaries range from €3 (big fancies) to €1 (outsiders) and you pick one horse each race. No betting, no forecasts and no placepots. Just a simple “pick a horse” style.
So, now we’ve set the scene let’s have a look at some value bets on the card.
The €3 Bankers
Race 1 – No No Nina – Has shown promise in her first two runs and has the class to take the opener.
Race 2 – Gem Thief -Beautifully -bred newcomer from the powerful Wesley Ward yard
Race 3 – Take Charge Again – Has winning form over this trip and can take advantage of a plum draw in stall 1 here.
Race 10 – Flora Fantasy – In tremendous form and looking for a course and distance hat trick here, the one they all have to beat.
The €2 Value Runners
Race 5 – Blameless – Has enough early pace to burn off most of these, can take advantage of a drop back in grade.
Race 7 – Midnight Miracle – Ultra-consistent sort who has been runner up in her last three races
Race 8 – Gilda F – Ran a cracker last time out and can improve again. Making her debut for new stable.
Race 9 – Augusta Moon – Versatile and always runs a good race, the selection of top jockey Luis Saez.
The €1 Bargain Basement
Race 4 – Sequaya – Making her first run on turf and is related to winners on this surface. Can outrun big odds from this draw if taking a liking to turf.
Race 6 – Chamberlain – Has shown enough speed in past races to suggest he is capable of sneaking into a place here.
Race 11 – Seven Channels – Missed the start on his racecourse debut. Has been given a break and could be better with that experience under his belt.
Best of luck with your selections, and don’t forget all the races are shown live on Sky Sports Racing.
