Horse Racing Tips: The Racing Post’s best bets at Fonner Park tonight

There's a busy card in Nebraska tonight.

10pm – Trapper Peak @ 11/8

Trapper Peak had Williston Dude well in arrears when runner-up over a mile, and then didn’t perform badly at all in fourth over this trip.

He gets the nod in a contest that may not take much winning, although Trask is capable of giving him a race.

10.27pm – Mr. Big Shot @ 11/4

Want To Be Cowboy hammered subsequent winner Creeds Revenge on his first taste of competitive action and looks to have a decent future.

However, Mr. Big Shot finished second in a minor stakes event over track and trip and that proven quality makes him the one to beat.

10.54pm – Captain Amante @ 7/2

Captain Amante and Witts Hurricane shared the spoils over C&D a couple of weeks ago, but the rail-drawn runner looks that little bit more reliable so can register an outright victory here.

Auctioneer numbered the selection among his victims over 6f, but then struggled at this trip.

11.21pm – Scioto’s shoes @ 6/4

Brave One beat Go West Indy to the runner-up berth over track and trip, with Jojogottago just behind them, but may have to play another supporting role.

That is because Scioto’s Shoes has contested some stronger races at Oaklawn and now faces his easiest assignment.

11.48pm – Obvi @ 5/2

Banker Nita could go well in here debuting for a new barn, but Obvi has been knocking on the door the last twice and makes more appeal. Atsa Woesy should also go well.

12.15am – Giant Gamble @ 6/5

Giant Gamble is holding his form admirably at present and is difficult to get away from, though the likes of Frankalee Fun and Born Force cannot be overlooked.

12.42am – A Bunch For Lunch @ 11/4

A Bunch For Lunch arrives in good nick on a hat-trick after her latest course success, an impressive one, and can complete the three-timer at the expense of Matapan and May Flowers.

1.09am – Astonishing Tweet @ 9/4

A competitive finale but Astonishing Tweet impressed in winning here a couple of weeks ago and he gets the nod.

Shepherd’s Pride wouldn’t be winning out of turn and joins Holiday Joke on the shortlist.
