Horse racing tips: Timeform’s 3 picks from both Tampa Bay & Gulfstream

These people know their racing.

#8 Bucky’s Drama – Tampa Bay R6 (20:15)

After finding only one too good on her two prior efforts, Bucky’s Drama produced a career-best performance to secure her maiden victory at Gulfstream last time. She is entitled to come on for that run and should make another bold show here. Silver Tunes ran creditably when fourth at Gulfstream last time and looks weighted to go close again, while Malibeauty is another worth considering as she bids to follow up her debut win.

#9 Tiz Samurai – Tampa Bay R8 (21:15)

Tiz Samurai ran below form when last of 12 here earlier this month but has plenty in hand on these terms and looks the clear pick at the weights. Jimmy D is less up against it here and is entitled to be thereabouts once more, while Candy Cove also requires a closer look.

#1 Karma King – Tampa Bay R9 (21:45)

Karma King arrives here in a very good vein of form, his recent efforts at Gulfstream and here reading well in the context of this race. His claims are second to none and he is the one they all have to beat. Venezuelan Warrior and Wild Wigglin Jack both ran below form last time but are consistent performers on the whole and look the pick of the remainder.

#6 Toonie Loonie – Gulfstream R3 (18:53)

There has been plenty to like about Toonie Loonie’s recent efforts, hitting the frame in each of her last three starts, and she looks the one to aim at in this maiden claimer. Leishlanick was a bit below form last time but has some of the best form on offer in this contest and is up there on the shortlist, while Socially Astray arrives here on the back of a career-best performance and is another who demands a closer look.

#6 Sneer – Gulfstream R8 (21:25)

Sneer is still searching for her first victory but has shown ability in her three races to date, and her chance at the weights is there for all to see. Feeling Funny has been well backed in both of her outings to date but has been unable to justify support. There is clearly plenty expected of the American Pharoah filly and she represents a serious threat if able to put it all together.

#1 Projected – Gulfstream R9 (21:55)

Projected turned in a respectable effort here six weeks back and he can take advantage of this drop in class to resume winning ways. The now eight-year-old, who has competed in some of America and France’s most prestigious races in his career, looks the clear pick at the weights and should prove difficult to beat on these terms. The in-form Luis Saez takes the ride on Bourbon In May, who looks the pick of the remainder.
