Horse Racing tips: The six best bets at Tampa Bay Downs tonight

5.24pm – Game Day Drama @ 9/4

Game Day Drama has been knocking on the door lately and looks set to get back into the winning groove here. Having his second outing for Carlo Vaccarezzo tonight Game Day Drama has finished in the top 3 without winning in each of his last 7 races.

He finished well in front of the rest when beaten by an outsider in this class on April 1. He’s overdue a win and we think tonight’s the night. It’ll be no surprise if Sum Overture improves on recent form from this draw and falls into a place.

5.52pm – Hyperloop @ 11/2

Michael Dini saddles newcomer Hyperloop and the booking of top jockey Samy Camacho catches the eye. Dini is well capable of readying one first time up, he has a 19% strike rate of winners here and over half of his runners at least make the frame.

Timeless Di flashed her tail in protest at the jockey’s urgings on debut back on March 24. She has ability based on what we saw that day and warrants respect.

6.21pm – My Sisters Keeper @ 4/1

My Sisters Keeper is returning from a break and is having her first visit to Tampa Bay tonight. Samy Camacho getting the leg up is a positive and she’s dropped in class tonight. Michael Dini should have her in shape to do herself justice and she’s the pick ahead of Karatbars, who won a maiden claimer over course and distance on March 13.

6.52pm – Fine Spirit @ 3/1

Dopo Lavoro has made the top 2 in 10 of his 23 starts but has only won once. He warrants respect in any Forecast or Tricast plays from this ideal inside gate. Fine Spirit won going away when losing his maiden tag here March 1. He’ll be hard to beat if in similar form and is our selection to land the double.

7.25pm – Sir Swaysalot @ 5/1

Sirs Swaysalot had no chance behind a class dropper over 7 furlongs here on March 29. He finished clear of the remainder in second place then and has a nice inside gate to work from tonight.

Angel Suarez takes over in the saddle and we expect him to make plenty of use of his mount early on over this shorter trip. Just Shoot Already has been costly to follow lately but we rate him as the main danger.

7.55pm – Matty’s Express @ 5/2

Matty’s Express scored here over slightly further on March 18. We take him to add to Michael Dini’s tally tonight in what looks a wide-open race. He certainly knows how to get the job done having won 2 of his last 5 races and the drop to a mile shouldn’t inconvenience him.

Olympic Romp is having his first Tampa Bay outing tonight. The inside gate and solid jockey Angel Suarez in the saddle are two positives to note. He’s only having his 5th career start and would have a say if he strips fit after a break.
