Tough race to start the day, but Jailbreak did enough last time out to be worth backing. This horse gets a significant jockey change with Nash Rawiller going on.
Very open race but Snitz has been going super north of the border, running slick times, while the trainer has seven winners from their last 28 runners so the camp is flying.
This horse is proven to be able to carry weight and will run well at an each way price.
Derby winner Quick Thinker is the short-priced favourite here currently at $2 but I have marked him closer to $2.70 so happy to be around him.
The fact we will be on the good track has me leaning toward Fortress Command who should peak here.
Previous best two figures have been on the dry, they were good through the line start and this horse is now given a second go at 2000m. I like this prep.
Couldn’t get the favourite anywhere near its current quote of $2.60 and happy to take on that form line.
Instead gone with promising New Zealand colt Not An Option who has to step up from 1100m to 1600m here, but the pace could be moderate which will play in its favour at a big price and I think they have the best turn of foot.
I’ve marked Bivouac as favourite so he is some value at a current $5.50 quote.
The key here is only moderate speed on paper so he can use gate 4 and be positive. Expecting him to be in the first four or five which will have him several lengths ahead of his key rivals.
His turn of foot is lethal when in slow tempos, as seen in Golden Rose and Newmarket Handicap.
Trekking won this race last year with 57kg when $4.50 in the market. I thought they were good in a fast run Group 1 last time out so should springboard off that effort and can repeat here.
The market will be a great guide here with several horses resuming from a spell, but the dry track should suit Military Zone and I think he will be powering to the line.

2.55am – JAILBREAK @ 11/2
Tough race to start the day, but Jailbreak did enough last time out to be worth backing. This horse gets a significant jockey change with Nash Rawiller going on.
3.35am – SNITZ @ 11/1
Very open race but Snitz has been going super north of the border, running slick times, while the trainer has seven winners from their last 28 runners so the camp is flying.
This horse is proven to be able to carry weight and will run well at an each way price.
4.10am – RUBISAKI @ 8/13
Rubisaki is a short-priced favourite but deservedly so.
Better suited to 1400m here and has an imposing record of seven wins from nine starts. Top-shelf filly.

5.20am – NOT AN OPTION @ 14/1

6am Randwick – SHARED AMBITION @ 2/1
Shared Ambition didn’t have much luck last start in the Group 1 Doncaster handicap where it was well supported in the market.
I think it is a better 2000m+ horse so gets the right conditions here.
