Horse Racing Tips: Through the card at Tampa with a 12/1 catching the eye of the traders

Glorious Tampa, be good to us.

5.15pm – Pact @ 2/1

A weak maiden claimer to kick off the card. Pact ran too keenly upfront for her own good in hotter company on March 14th. Jockey Daniel Centeno will know more about this improving filly today and can be expected to hold a little extra in reserve as they turn for home this time. She won’t have to improve much to take this pot. Bella Linda rarely runs a bad race and is another to consider from tonight’s inside gate.

5.45pm – Maliced @ 6/5

Maliced ran well off a fast pace when second in this class over course and distance on March 28th. Jockey Angel Suarez has been getting plenty of winners recently and he retains the ride. The wide draw shouldn’t be a concern as he’ll be expected to employ hold up tactics again. We rate Daresca as the main danger.

6.15pm – Tracey Ann’s Legacy @ 4/6

Tracey Ann’s Legacy scored in this class over course & distance here on March 22nd. She opened up close home to win with a bit in hand that day and is very hard to oppose tonight. Pins And Needles finished third to our selection that day and can follow her home for the forecast.

6.45pm – Poznan @ 7/4

Poznan was only beaten a very short head over this trip on March 13th. The gelding has placed in five of his eight starts. He’s no world-beater but deserves his turn and we think tonight could be the night in this weaker looking race. The unexposed Buffalo Max stayed on nicely when second here on April 1st and could be the fly in the ointment!

7.15pm – Cask @ 4/1

Cask carries our hopes here. He’s yet to make the frame in five starts but has to be of interest in this much weaker contest than he’s used to. Danceronthebeach ran well in defeat in this class on March 21st and is another to consider.

7.45pm – Yabba Dabba Dude @ 6/1

Last Promise is in the form of his life having won five of his last seven starts. He can be expected to put in another decent performance. We prefer the chances of the versatile and well-named Yabba Dabba Dude who has the early speed to hold the rails throughout. He won on his last start over shorter but has also previously won over this distance. He could prove difficult to pass and gets our vote.

8.15pm – Juan Pablo @ 12/1

On A Spree has finished in the top two in his last five races and can be expected to be bang there at the finishing line again tonight. Juan Pablo caught the eye finishing with a flourish for second over course and distance on March 15th. It’ll be no surprise to see him race closer to the pace tonight and he’s our pick.

Tampa Bay Downs

8.45pm  – Getinintomischief @ 3/1

Getinintomischief was beaten favourite here over 7f on March 22nd where he strained the reins early on under hold up tactics. We think connections may try him from the front from this ideal inside gate over this shorter trip. Credit Cycle could give him most to do.

9.15pm – Astroturf @ 9/4

Astroturf showed a nice attitude when second in a $27K Maiden in February. He should be well up to winning a race of this class. Felix The Fox could also go well but the wide gate draw is a concern.
