Horse Racing Tips: A full card of trader tips for Tampa Bay Downs this evening

A NAP, next best and every race covered. Can't ask for much more than that.

Tampa Bay Downs

17:30 – SEGISMUNDO @ 11/4

Upper Crown, Segismundo and Fledermaus are the likely pacesetters in the opening one-mile claimer at Tampa Bay this Wednesday. Fledermaus for trainer Ian Hemingway was impressive when scoring over course and distance last month, running out a very easy winner and is short-listed with jockey Wilmer Garcia once again in the saddle.

A number of these drop in grade with Attack Zone, What A Hoot and The Kahn hoping to show some spark tonight. Segismundo is another horse dropping back into an 8k claimer and holds two wins and a place from three starts at Tampa Bay. He’s the most consistent runner in the field and will hopefully just sit off the pace under Daniel Centeno to score for trainer Juan Avila.

18:00 – ALL AMERICAN JEWEL @ 9/2

An average maiden special weight for our second race of the night at Tampa Bay over 8.5-furlongs with 14-runners. All American Jewel has finished third in three 16k maiden special weights since December here at Tampa and V K Legacy looks another leading contender in a contest with a handful of horses in the mix.

Two Step Beat, Jost Dreamy with Camacho in the saddle and Action Absolute Ds could improve to win, but All American Jewel is our tentative pick. Juan Arriagada’s horses are in good form, having two-winners and four placed from six-runners in the past two weeks. She’ll be waited with under first-time rider Raul Mena for a late challenge in what looks a trappy affair.

18:30 – DIAMOND NEWS @ 7/2

Samy Camacho and Ger Bennett have an excellent chance of securing the third race of the night at Tampa Bay, a 6-furlong claimer with Diamond News. She’s never finished out of the top three here in five starts and drops slightly back in trip and class tonight. The five-year-old was a good third in allowance company and a 25k claimer on both starts this March and looks the safest bet.

Camacho (with a current 40.63% winning strike-rate) over the past two-weeks knows this mare like the back of his hand and should dictate the pace from a good inside draw. The lightly raced Tipsy Again has an each-way chance following an impressive maiden success here last month and is open to more improvement.

19:00 – BIZNESS BEAUTY @ 2/1

The entire field have been in and out of form with several runners dropping down in grade for this 16k claimer over 8.5-furlongs. The lightly raced Fashion Frame steps into claiming company after an impressive maiden victory here last month with Noble Intentions another with genuine claims tonight.

Shenu Shenume drops in class for trainer Kathleen O’Connell and can’t be dismissed, but Bizness Beauty is our selection. The four-year-old filly disappointed here last month but was previously knocking on the door with placed efforts in 25k claimers since last December. The drop-in class stands out and expect jockey Ronnie Allen Jr to challenge late from off the pace.

19:30 – GONEASAGIRLCANGET (NAP) @ 5/4

It’s very hard to look beyond Goneasagirlcanget in this 7-furlong maiden claimer with most of this field very exposed. She’s been very consistent and returns from a break having been running in much better races this year. Her early career form around Gulfstream Park West also looks solid with two second-place runs in 50k maiden races last year – Centeno remains in the saddle and she’s the nap pick tonight.

20:00 – ITSAGIMME’S GIRL @ 11/2

Bennet and Camacho combine again on the card with Itsagimme’s Girl in this 16k one-mile claimer (race six) on Wednesday night. She outclassed her rivals from the front when beating several of these 18-days ago and can land the double tonight. If Camacho breaks quickly past leading rival Monkey Mind (a class dropper) he could set the factions to perfection and kick from the front.

20:30 – IMA WILDCAT @ 13/2

A mixed bag of claimers for our second last race of the night at Tampa Bay, a 5k claimer over 6-furlongs. Big Gillette drops down in grade and trip tonight under Camacho, while Amelia’s Wild Ride, another class dropper steps up an extra-furlong and both are bang in connection. Our tentative each-way pick is Ima Wildcat for Ronnie Allen Jr who ran a good race on her Tampa debut last month having returned from a break the previous May when racing around Gulfstream.

21:00 – GAELIC GOLD (NB) @ 7/2

Christophe Clement’s stable are on fire at present with six-winners and seven placed horses from a total of thirteen in the last two weeks. His sole runner on the card at Tampa is newcomer, Gaelic Gold for owner breeders, Waterville Lake Stables in the lucky last. Samy Camacho rides and has ridden four maiden winners from five for Clement (the other finished second) since 14th March.
