Horse Racing tips: Here’s 8 to play at Tampa Bay on Sunday

Here’s the best of our selections from a mixed card on the dirt and turf from the Florida venue tonight.

17:25 Masterio @ 13/2 

MASTERIO has had no luck at all in his first two racecourse experiences. He has missed the break both times and met early traffic. Despite the slow breaks he has posted some decent sectionals.

The selection is now in the care of trainer Derek Ryan and has reportedly been working well. If his new handler has ironed out his troubles at the gates, Masterio can run a big race at decent odds.

17:52 Lem Me Tel Ya @ 11/4

First race on the dirt and there’s 5 and ½ furlongs in front of these sprinters. LEM ME TEL YA was a good winner last time out and has the early speed to cope with this slight drop back in trip. Scott Spieth’s mount has excellent speed and a bold follow up bid is expected here.

18:19 She’s Got Moves @ 3/1

Our first extra place race of the night, we are going 4 places here instead of the usual three. SHE’S GOT MOVES can take advantage of a good draw and a drop in grade here.

The selection is making her debut for the Sweezey yard and can grab the rail dominate proceedings here under Wilmer Garcia. With the extra place on offer, each-way punters might consider the well-bred Tiznoise being better than she showed on her racecourse debut at Gulfstream last month.

18:48 Elzabe’s On Board @ 5/1

We swap to 6 furlongs on the dirt now. There was a lot to like about ELZABE’S ON BOARD second place finish 18 days ago. The selection will attempt to make all and the slight drop back in trip should be in his favour.

He has won twice over 5 furlongs.

19:19 – Yei Yei @ 9/4

Another 6 furlong dirt race here .It may pay to keep the faith with YEI YEI here. The selection was a very disappointing favourite last time out but his run before that would give him a serious shout here.

Dale Bennett is the top trainer around Tampa Bay, and he will look to get Yei Yei played late here. The three year old looks like the race will be set up perfectly for him to pick off the leaders and score late.

19:50 Classy Of Course @ 4/1

CLASSY OF COURSE has been in tremendous form of late and can cope with a rise in class here to make it three wins out of her last four. The selection is at her best when she is allowed to dictate from the front and set the pace like she did in her last victory. There doesn’t seem to be too much other early speed in this race and Classy Of Course can make every post a winning one.

20:20 – Patriotic Endeavor @ 13/2

Another extra place race here from Paddy, and the consistent PATRIOTIC ENDEAVOR makes plenty of appeal with the 4 places on offer. The selection was unlucky last time out when she broke poorly. But if the selection breaks well here she could benefit from a nice draw and be able to demonstrate the good tactical speed she has.

20:51 – Jais’s Solitude @ 13/8

Take the favourite to score in the finale. JAIS’S SOLITUDE is taking a significant drop in grade and can feast on these weaker rivals.
