We start the card at Golden Gate with a 5-furlong maiden claimer on dirt with Kelly’s Amber the only newcomer in the field. The lightly raced Pajama Queen is open to further improvement at an each-way price, but Enchanting Evalooks the solid selection for Victor Trujillo – she’s been racing against better opposition of late and should give the trainer an opening winner from an inside draw.
Eldritch has been running against better company lately and comes back after a break for trainer Mark Glatt in this 1-mile claimer. Studley Perfection is looking to get back to winning ways, while King Eddie is hoping to secure back to back wins. However, it might be worth siding withWilshire Dude again following two good second place runs and trainer Steve Miyad is in red hot form of late.
The third race at Golden Gates on Thursday night looks a competitive affair with eight runners for this 5.5-furlong claimer. Circulodeganadoras, Diamondsnchampagne and Joyous are all previous winners, but Cash for Casslooks the value. She’s had solid placed runs of late and makes an interesting drop back in trip for trainer Jacqui Navarre which should well suit.
Keepinmypromise is the most experienced runner in this 6-furlong claimer and despite looking exposed she’s worth one last chance for victory. She travelled well from off a strong pace here last month and the extra 0.5 furlong tonight should be an advantage. Sassy and Hot was grabbed late home when finishing second here 12-days ago and looks the obvious danger for trainer Leo Powell.
Another tight affair despite only a field of six-runners for this 8.5 furlong claiming contest (race five) at Golden Gates. Cimpl Man returned to form previously when finishing second behind Como last month and warrants respect. However, Jon Wong’s Mithqaalis our selection having improved for both starts this year and ran a solid third in a better race last time.
Crazy Sexy Munny is three from three here in 2020 and looks set for another claiming success having changed stables three times since December. She’s a big chestnut filly and runs again for trainer Jacqui Navarre and her record here is outstanding – it’s hard to look past her with Gratzie looking the biggest danger for Manuel Badilla.
Another in form horse from the Jacqui Navarre stable is our selection in this starter allowance contest over 8.5 furlongs. Blushing Bay has improved with two victories this year since stepping back up in trip and jockey Brayan Pena continues his partnership tonight. She’ll appreciate a strong pace and has every chance of completing the hat-trick over another recent winner Mulhima.
The maiden special weight over one mile ends the card at Golden Gate in the early part of Friday morning with several horses on the short-list. Railsplitter for Doug Watson comes here after a good second at Santa Anita, but Big Permis our final pick for Jon Wong. He was green on debut, placed last turning for home before grabbing second and the step-up in trip will suit perfectly here.
