First out of the gate was Swiss Skydiver at 91/10 in the Grade 2 Fillies Mile race on the dirt track at Hallandale Beach at 8.49 on Saturday night.
The Paco Lopez-ridden winner landed the £86k prize in good style at 91/10, to set our pal up for a tasty back-to-back double, IF Bemma’s Boy could do the business in the very next race on the turf track.
But it was no gimme.
It went right to the wire Bemma’s Boy held on by a neck and a head from Zulu Alpha and Current in a driving finish to the line to capture the £89k first prize. More importantly, it landed our lucky London punter more than £2k in readies for his Saturday night adventure.
Congratulations chap! It has been a while but your place in our social distancing compliant International Punting Hall of Fame is ready and waiting.
