Most are in isolation, but not Irish racing and it’s great ITV provides some action on Saturday with five races from Thurles to try and sort out.
I’m really excited about this as I used to love my trips to Thurles on the old Attheraces channel.
Let’s get straight to it, and the 1.40pm is a maiden hurdle over 2m. No doubt in my mind FAKIERA is the one to beat after a fine second at Leopardstown in a twenty runner field. That was a good performance against Jon Snow and he should go one place better here for Gordon Elliott and Sean O’Keeffe.
Next up is the 2.10pm, a conditions hurdle over an extended 2m 6f. The horse with potential is surely KARL DER GROSSE for Willie Mullins and Rich Ricci. He was pulled up when last seen at this track in February of last year, but prior to that he had looked promising at Tramore and Galway. Can bounce back for the champion trainer.

I’ll take a little each-way chance here with OUR MAJELLA who was pulled up last time at Limerick. However, prior to that the mare had raced really well twice at this track when placed in big fields. She might snatch a place at least back at the course she loves under the excellent Danny Mulllins.
There is a Grade 3 novice chase over 2m 2f at 3.10pm. I’ll pick ZERO TEN here for Emmet and David Mullins. A hugely consistent performer, Zero Ten is well suited to this trip and was far from disgraced at Naas two runs ago before falling last time.

KAVANAGHS CORNER is badly in at the weights with Crazyheart on a recent run at Thurles but I think he might confirm the form. A typical bold jumper for Henry de Bromhead he should be bang there at the finish.
So best of luck and pray of Yeeehaas. You hear me Paddy?
