LIZZIE KELLY

Champ fell last time out and his return at Kelso was abandoned. I don’t think him falling last time is particularly off-putting. It’s not ideal, but if a horse makes a mistake and ends up on the deck that doesn’t mean they are not any good.

He’s look very good throughout his whole career and I think he’s very exciting.

FRANK HICKEY

I don’t like Champ at all to be honest! It wasn’t just his fall in that race, he made two or three bad mistakes. I’d be very worried about his jumping. I think there’s a chance Champagne Classic may switch to this race.

I think he’d have a right chance if he ended up here. He’s got good form and good form at Cheltenham too.

PAUL JACOBS

I think it’s an interesting race. Champ has a big engine, but jumps like a donkey so I can’t have him. I think Allaho for WIllie Mullins has been forgotten he’s done nothing wrong and is progressing in the right direction. But I think the standout bet here is Copperhead.

He’s jumped brilliantly in all his races. He’s very efficient and a grand galloper. He’s not put a foot wrong. I think it’s almost an each/way bet to nothing.

PADDY POWER

I quite like Minella Indo. I’m disappointed he’s only 4/1 because I thought he might have crept out a little. I really like him from last year and I think he’s got a chance. Copperhead also has a great chance.

RUBY WALSH

I think Champ needed to fall. He was taking chances and liberties and needed to bang his head off the ground to knock some sense into him. I think it’ll be the making of him and he’ll win.
