FRANK HICKEY

Envoi Allen has been impressive this year, but he’s not as clear on ratings as his price suggests. Sporting John and The Big Getaway have been impressive. Envoi Allen will probably win, but I wouldn’t be getting stuck in at 11/10, particularly given how strong the race is.

PAUL JACOBS

The only way I’m backing Sporting John is if he goes for the longer race. I think he wants three miles and was flattered at Ascot. I really want Chantry House to run here rather than the Supreme. I think he’s made for this race. He’s got such a high cruising speed. I think he’s a very special horse – but I’ll only back him here, not in the Supreme.

LIZZIE JACOBS

I really liked Sporting John at Ascot, but I think they’ve all got a bit to find to catch Envoi Allen. I think he’s really solid so I’d stick with him.

PADDY POWER

I think 11/10 is a terrible price, but I agree with Lizzie on Envoi Allen.

RUBY WALSH

Any price is a good price on Envoi Allen. If I was going to Cheltenham on Envoi Allen I’d be insulted if he was only 11/10. He’s rock solid and unbeaten. I’d be fairly confident if I was riding him now that he was going to win.

He’s a great ride, relaxed and a great jumper. He’s also got a turn of foot. I’d be fairly confident he’s got this one wrapped up.
