He’s a very good horse, he’s got loads of gears and stays forever. He’ll win.

If Battleoverdoyen and Copperhead are put in other races, Carefully Selected (7/4) basically just needs to get around.

He’s a Grade One horse against what is a pretty weak field.

Carefully Selected is the favourite, but is there value in it? He could well be the banker of the whole week.

But I like a bit of value, and at 10/1 I like Newtide. He’s bred to stay further than this and is an exemplary jumper. I think he’s good value each/way at that price.
