Keyser Soze is bidding to repeat last year’s success in this race and looks to have an excellent chance. He is effectively 3lb lower than he was for that success as he gets the assistance of promising young five pound claimer Angus Villiers here.
He is an extreme hold up horse which led to problems on his last start as he was repeatedly denied a clear run and could only finish an unlucky looking 4th. We have to hope that he doesn’t experience such unfortunate traffic problems here but granted luck in running he should be able to show his customary late burst of acceleration and you would hope that he will be bang there at the finish.
Fendale has a very good record here winning once and finishing 2nd three times from six starts at the track. His last two starts have been over six furlongs and he has performed with credit in both runs, finishing 2nd to a progressive rival two starts ago and not beaten far behind a number of subsequent winners last time out.
He returns to five furlongs here, which looks like his best trip and considering the form he is in this looks an ideal opportunity to get his head in front.
A £/€1 double on these two selections returns £/€24 including stake on pp.com. Odds correct at time of posting, but can change.
