Paddy Power's Director of Racing, conveniently also named Paddy, was speaking on the latest edition of our From the Horse's Mouth podcast.

13.44 – GOWRAN PARK

It’s interesting to see CILAOS EMERY over hurdles.

If he produces some of his chase form he should win this.

But he wasn’t a brilliant Novice Hurdler.

13.50 – ASCOT

SAM BROWN is the one to beat.

His form at Haydock last time out was strong.

And the extra soft ground at Ascot is going to be right up his street.

14.05 – HAYDOCK

THE WORLDS END is definitely going to be favourite. It’s not a very strong race.

He was OK when he won at Ascot. L’ami Serge was up front but faded as he tends to do.

He’ll probably win but it won’t be a great race.

14.54 – GOWRAN PARK

I’m very, very strong on REAL STEEL here.

Two-and-a-half-miles, going right-handed – it’s just his gig.

Chris’s Dream probably wants a little bit further and Real Steel for me.

15.00 – ASCOT

Paul Nicholls’ MALAYA was fourth in this race last year – and I fancy her to go better this time around.

She’s only one pound higher and has won the Imperial Cup since.

It she goes off around the 14/1 price we expect, then I think she’s a good each/way option.

15.35 – ASCOT

CYRNAME is back at his favourite track and should win.

Riders onthe Storm has impressed a lot since he’s gone with Nigel Twiston-Davies but Cyrname is a different class.

I don’t think Cyrname will go to Cheltenham no matter what happens here, but if Riders onthe Storm was to win he’ll probably become favourite for the Ryanair at Cheltenham – but it’s very hard to see.
