Horse Racing tips: Timeform set the pace in every race at Lingfield on Friday

Giddy up!

14:00 – ESTRELA STAR

Estrela Star confirmed his previous promise at Kempton recently when scoring convincingly to open his account. Seven days later he repeated the feat, this time at Chelmsford, as he improved again to defy a penalty and run out a six-and-a-half-length winner. He is clearly thriving at the minute and, though he has a 10lb penalty to shoulder for those two victories, he is in good enough form to suggest he may still be well in.

14:35 – PLANTADREAM

After showing plenty of ability amidst greenness on debut, Plantadream got off the mark at the second time of asking when a staying-on winner at Kempton last month. His inexperience was still there for all to see, but he did do well to overcome it and promises to have a fair bit more to come. He is still lightly raced for a five-year-old and, with further improvement likely, he is taken to build on his recent performance and follow up.

15:10 – PHUKET POWER

Phuket Power found only one too good for the second successive race when edged out in the final 100 yards at this venue last time. He lost little in defeat, however, going with fluency throughout and pulling well clear of the remainder of the field. He is up just 3 lb here and should be capable of defying that mark. The main danger will come in the form of Badri, who got off the mark in ready fashion at Lingfield last month and looks a major player on his handicap debut.

15:40 – MAKRAM

Makram displayed obvious signs of greenness on his debut last month, but shaped with plenty of promise once the penny dropped, storming home to finish second. His exploits late on were backed up by the clock and, with that run now under his belt, he should improve further and open his account.

16:10 – BATTLE OF MARATHON

Battle of Marathon wasted no time getting back on track when benefiting from a change of tactics to regain the winning thread in an apprentice handicap here recently. He avoids a penalty for that victory and, considering the cosy manner in which he won, he is taken to land his third win in his last four attempts over this C&D.

16:40 – ITS NICE TOBE NICE

Its Nice Tobe Nice was well held in each of her first three attempts, but shaped well on her handicap debut following a breathing operation. Hampered and left with plenty to do over two furlongs out, she caught the eye when finishing well under considerate handling. She is open to further improvement on that evidence and must enter calculations here from the same mark.
