Champion Hurdle latest odds: Full list of potential runners at Cheltenham Festival 2020

Espoir d'Allen winning Champion Hurdle

The Champion Hurdle is the most prestigious hurdling event in the National Hunt calendar, leading the charge on day one of the Cheltenham Festival.

The Grade 1 race will take place at 3.30pm on Tuesday 10 March, run on the Old Course over a distance of 2 miles and ½ furlong with eight hurdles hurdles to be jumped.

Representing the last leg of the Triple Crown of Hurdling, the race follows the Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle and the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton Park.

The Champion Hurdle has a total prize fund of £450,000 and is open to horses aged four years and older.

As the headline act on Champion Day at Cheltenham, the race has been won by some legends of the sport including the magnificent mare Dawn Run, the popular Brave Inca and three-time winners Hatton’s Grace, Persian War, See You Then and Istabraq.

Last year 16/1 chance Espoir d’Allen was victorious, with two-time winner Buveur d’Air falling at the third hurdle.

And this time around Epatante leads the field after a big win at Kempton over Christmas.
