The big disappointment over the weekend was what happened to Jack Kennedy. From winning the Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup to breaking his leg in the very next race.
I just feel so sorry for him.
He’s going to miss Cheltenham and even though he’s shown the ability to come back after injury, I know exactly how he feels.
I was fortunate enough that I never actually missed the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival. I broke my leg there and dislocated my shoulder another time.
But it’s unbearable to think that he’ll be missing Cheltenham along with the likes of Aintree, Fairyhouse and Punchestown.
The Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup was some race on Sunday.
I thought the ground ended up a little bit against Kemboy, but Delta Work has improved again since his Savills Chase win.
He got a brilliant ride and Jack Kennedy delivered him at the right time. I questioned last season’s RSA Chase form, but it looks rock solid now.
It’s hard to know if Kemboy and Presenting Percy can turn the form around with Delta Work at Cheltenham.
