National Hunt - the gift that keeps on giving.

12:50 – Good Thyne Tara @ 1/2

This doesn’t look a strong race of its type and it looks cherry ripe for GOOD TYHNE TARA, who shaped with plenty of promise on her chasing debut at Thurles in November. She showed a definite aptitude for chasing, just paying for trying to match strides with the impressive winner. Good Thyne Tara was sent off the even-money favourite on that occasion, and it will be very disappointing if she isn’t able to go one place better here.

13:20 – Zero Ten @ 9/2

Willie Mullins has a good record in this and holds strong claims with his two runners Tornado Flyer and Cash Back. However, the former isn’t sure to be suited by this test of speed, and it could pay to side with Zero Ten. He hasn’t been seen since making a winning chasing debut at Galway in the summer, but he was impressive on that occasion and rates the type to go even higher in this sphere. He could offer some value in an open renewal.

13:50 – Everlastingpromise @ 2/1

EVERLASTINGPROMISE scored in taking style at Thurles and looks the one to focus on here now he is dropped back in trip having failed to get home over the two and a half mile trip at Navan last time. He can prove himself still on a good mark. My Manekineko rates the biggest danger reverted to chasing, while Allardyce rates a solid place prospect.

14:20 – Envoi Allen @ 4/11 / Envoi Allen & Elixir d’Ainay forecast

This race has been won by the likes of Rule The World, Death Duty and Battleoverdoyen in recent years, and ENVOI ALLEN is bidding to give Gordon Elliott another win in the race. He is as exciting a jumper as any seen in Ireland for years, and having outpointed subsequent Grade 1-winner Abacadabras at Fairyhouse last month, can remain unbeaten with this step up in trip sure to suit.

Elixir d’Ainay saw off Longhouse Poet here in November and looks the one for the forecast ahead of his old rival who won well at Navan next time.

14:50 – Asterion Forlonge @ 8/11

Every chance this will develop into a straight fight between bumper winners ASTERION FORLONGE and Pencilfulloflead. The fact the former went off at such prohibitive odds at Thurles suggests he’s held in good regard by the Willie Mullins team and he’s preferred. Goaheadwiththeplan may prove best of the rest.

15:20 – Fox Le Bel @ 2/1

This doesn’t look the strongest handicap and FOX LE BEL very much stands out as the unexposed sort in the field. He shaped encouragingly with an eye to the future on his handicap debut at Clonmel last time, making headway when badly hampered two out, and keeping on for hands-and-heels riding after. There should be much more to come from him, and he is well up to winning races from this sort of mark.

15:50 – Hardwired @ 5/1

HARDWIRED has an excellent pedigree for bumpers and the booking of Patrick Mullins catches the eye, so he’s a tentative choice in a tricky race that’s full of newcomers. Galileo Dance and Thedevilscoachman also make appeal on breeding and represent quality stables, so they’re also on the radar.
