15:35 – Poppy May
It is hard to form a solid opinion in this unappealing contest, but Poppy May can have her last run easily excused and she should now be up to fully up to speed fitness-wise. Sagittarian Wind has underperformed for Archie Watson but needs considering in a race such as this, with Isabella Ruby one to consider for place purposes (long-standing maiden).
16:05 – Kybosh
Another weak-looking affair, but the one to concentrate on is Kybosh, who showed his best form when finishing third in a similar event at this course last time. That was just his second start for Mick Appleby, who is very astute at improving/rejuvenating such types, and it would be a surprise were there not, even more, to come from him at this modest level.
Get over to PaddyPower.com for all the latest racing odds16:35 – Falcon Cliffs
Falcon Cliffs had been knocking on the door and belatedly ended a lengthy losing run at Chelmsford last month, a sound gallop back at a trip that tested her stamina seeing her to good advantage. The return to two miles now will help further, and she makes plenty of appeal from a 5lb higher mark, still with plenty of handicapping scope based on her old form.
17:05 – Holy Eleanor
This doesn’t look the strongest race of its type and Holy Eleanor has shown enough to suggest she is up to winning a race of this nature. She attracted support on her debut for this yard when hitting the frame in a C&D handicap last month and stepped up on that effort when only narrowly beaten at Lingfield last time. She could improve again on just her third start for Archie Watson, but even a similar display will see her go close here.
17:35 – Copperlight
Copperlight hadn’t shown much in three starts in minor/maiden company, but was much improved on his first start in handicaps, making all to win at Newcastle over a similar trip to this. There was no real support behind him in the betting, but first-time cheekpieces and a seven-week break seemed to make the world of difference, responding well in the closing stages. Those tactics should be easier to employ round here, and he looks ahead of his mark turned out under a penalty.
18:05 – Seaforth
Seaforth matched the pick of his efforts last winter to come out on top after four months off in a minor event over this C&D last week and he looks the one to beat again back in a handicap under a 4lb penalty. An outside draw isn’t too much of a concern given he is usually held up and a big run looks on the cards.
