Disruptor offered little on his first start for David Evans at Southwell last month but seemed to benefit from the application of a visor when putting in a much better effort to finish runner-up at Kempton on Wednesday. The three-year-old had dropped a long way in the weights and highlighted that he is on a fair mark by keeping on well to get within a neck of the winner. His strength at the finish suggests this step up in trip won’t be a problem, while the good form of the Evans yard is another factor in his favour.
18:15 Wolverhampton – Mohareb
Mohareb was picked up for just £7,000 from Godolphin and is proving to be a right bargain. He produced an encouraging effort on his first start for Mick Appleby at Wolverhampton in October, finishing runner-up, and he built on that when digging deep under pressure to prevail over six furlongs at Chelmsford, handling the drop in trip well. He progressed again on his handicap debut at Lingfield last month, where he kept on strongly under pressure to score by a length. He remains relatively unexposed and looks the type to pull out more if required, while stepping back up in trip to seven furlongs should not be an issue. He can enhance his excellent record for this yard and complete the hat-trick.
17:15 Wolverhampton – Diamonique
Diamonique was below her best on her final outing on turf at Hamilton in September but bounced back at Kempton last time, doing well to finish third under the circumstances after racing closer to both the pace and the inside in the straight than seemed ideal. She ran with credit on a number of occasions off higher marks during the summer, and she is rated 2lb lower than when successful in a nursery last year. She is clearly on a decent mark, is in form and could yet have more to offer on artificial surfaces (finished third on both attempts).
17:15 Diamonique – 5/1
17:45 Disruptor – 9/4
18:15 Mohareb – 9/4
