Horse Racing Tips: 6 picks to thaw a frosty Tuesday at Lingfield

Temperatures might be plummeting, but we're hoping to hit a hot streak on Tuesday at Lingfield with these six super picks

12:45 – Lingfield

Dancing Doris (13/2) produced a promising effort when second on debut in April, pulling clear of the rest of the field after conceding first run to the winner, and should take all the beating here if fully tuned up after seven months off. Northern Poet justified support to make a winning start over course and distance last month and holds obvious claims but this is a much stiffer task now hit with a 7 lb penalty.

13:15 – Lingfield

Jamie Snowden’s bumper winner struck at the first time of asking over hurdles at Fontwell on reappearance last month and, though she was somewhat underwhelming in a listed race at Newbury recently, Early Morning Rain (8/13) is taken to make amends now returned to calmer waters.

13:45 – Lingfield

Pres (5/2) left his hurdles form behind to make a winning chase debut here last month, proving a completely different proposition faced with the larger obstacles. Chris Gordon’s five-year-old has the physique to take well to this discipline and, with further improvement likely, he is taken to make it back-to-back victories in this sphere.

14:15 – Lingfield

Bonne Question (6/1) caught the eye on his reappearance at Wetherby last month, making smooth headway under a considerate ride, and has a fair mark to play with despite a wide margin win at Ffos Las last season. He is expected to strip fitter for his recent outing and could be worth siding with considering the form Venetia Williams is currently in.

14:45 – Lingfield

Maypole Class (5/2) showed improved form at Carlisle last time out when finding only a gambled-on improver too good. Jonjo O’Neill’s ex-pointer stands out as the most progressive sort in the field and should make the most of this opportunity to get off the mark under Rules.

15:15 – Lingfield

Uhlan Bute (3/1) is back down to his last winning mark after some patchy exploits during the spring, but he stepped up on his comeback run when fourth at Ludlow last month, and could be worth chancing now back in trip. Similarly, Shanahan’s Turn has also slipped through the weights and showed he still has something to offer when third at Chepstow last month, so cannot be discounted lightly.
