Vibrance got off the mark with something to spare at this track last time, relishing the step up in trip. She had to wait for a gap over two furlongs out but quickened well to lead entering the final furlong and eventually won cosily. The finish to that contest was dominated by three-year-olds and the form looks handy enough for the grade, while she had finished runner-up on her two previous starts on the all-weather and is starting to develop a decent record on artificial surfaces. With the likelihood of more to come over staying trips, she is taken to defy a 5lb rise and record back-to-back victories for James Fanshawe’s yard.
14:10 Limerick – Likable Chancer
Likable Chancer failed to build on a good effort in a Listowel maiden hurdle when afforded a generous-looking opening mark of 90 on his handicap debut at Gowran Park last month. However, he wasted no time getting back on track in a maiden hurdle at Wexford, pulling clear with a pair of improvers to finish third. He may have been let in lightly here off a mark of 95 and is taken to get off the mark now back in handicap company. Father Ailbe arrives on the back of posting his best effort over hurdles at Navan, and he is considered the main danger.
18:00 Kempton – Sparkalot
Four-time course-and-distance winner Sparkalot has slipped in the weights and could be set to take advantage of a fair mark. He caught the eye when finishing in mid-division in a handicap over course and distance last month, keeping on without being knocked about and on what might have been the slowest part of the track. He has a handy low draw and Luke Morris, who was on board for two of his victories here, has been booked for the ride. Lihou contested the same handicap as Sparkalot last time, finishing one place ahead, and he is deemed a big threat.
