Ruby Walsh: Here’s four that could score for Willie Mullins at Thurles

The Mullins yard has been in flying form.

Thurles – 12:15

The afternoon’s action at Thurles gets underway with a mare’s beginners chase over 2m2f. Willie Mullins had plenty of entries, but he’s plumped for Good Thyne Tara.

She’s a very good mare on her day and she handles good ground. Sinora looks to be the biggest danger too her, but Good Thyne Tara has schooled well and we’ll be hopefully she can make a winning debut.

Thurles – 12:50

The feature race is the 2m 6f handicap chase at 12.50pm where Footpad makes his seasonal reappearance. He’d a disappointing season last year after winning the Arkle in his novice season at Cheltenham, but so did main rival Balko Des Flos after beating Un De Sceaux in the Ryanair Chase in 2017.

Jetz is a decent horse on his day but this is a big step up in class for him. The track, the trip and the ground should suit Footpad and we think he’s in great form at home.

Thurles – 13:25

This novice hurdle is a very competitive looking race. Allez Dance and Think Positive are Willie Mullins’ two representatives in this one, while Royal Thief, Silver Sheen and Impatient Partner would all look to have chances because they all have winning form. Think Positive has been a bit disappointing, but the step up in trip at Thurles should suit Allez Dance.

Thurles – 15:35

Willie’s only other runner on the card is Asterion Forlonge in the 2m bumper at 15:35. He won a point to point but that will count for little here, but we like him and he’s in great form.

I’ve been on the fence about our bumper horses recently, but they seemed to have turned a corner with Tactical Move and The Big Getaway winning recently so hopefully, this fella can bring up the treble in Joe Donnelly colours.

Thurles Tips Summary

12:15 Good Thyne Tara
12:50 Footpad
13:25 Allez Dance
15:35 Asterion Forlonge
