Horse racing tips: Timeform’s 3 best bets from across the cards on Monday

Nap
Cheque en Blanc – 15:00 Plumpton

Cheque en Blanc ran his best race to date when winning this race from a 3lb lower mark 12 months ago and he holds leading claims of retaining his crown.

He was unsuited by the drop to two and a half miles on his return from 10 months off at Exeter in October, but that run will likely have put him spot on for this and he remains unexposed in these marathon events.

Gary Moore does well at Plumpton and Cheque en Blanc looks a big player here. That’s why he’s Timeform’s NAP of the day!

Next best
Clipsham Tiger – 16:15 Southwell

Something has clicked with Clipsham Tiger this past couple of months, showing improved form to win his last two starts, and particularly impressing by the manner in which he won over this C&D 9 days ago.

He took very well to his first try on fibres and looking a natural as he took apart his field, storming to a 10-length success under George Rooke.

He is now 17lb higher in the weights than when last contesting a handicap, but he looks an improved performer now, and is worth siding with given the impression he made at this course last time.

Each way
Steal The Scene – 14:20 Wolverhampton

Backing Steal The Scene clearly comes with risks attached given his losing run stretches back to November 2015, but he is definitely in better form than his recent form figures suggest and holds sound claims back at seven furlongs.

He was stretched by the longer trip here in October and can have a line put through his latest run at this course when getting no room and finishing with running left.

This mark is very workable, and he has sound each-way claims in an open race.

Timeform Tips summary:

14:20 Wolverhampton: Steal The Scene
15:00 Plumpton: Cheque en Blanc
16:15 Southwell: Clipsham Tiger
