13:15 Ludlow – Feuille De Chene
Dual French bumper winner Feuille de Chene has all the credentials to be an above-average hurdling recruit having been picked up by top connections. Phillip Hobbs’s hurdling debutant makes his reappearance after 11 months off and is taken to get the better of Getariver, who was underwhelming on her first attempt over timber after looking smart in bumpers.
13:50 Ludlow – Seeanythingyoulike
Seeanythingyoulike was a bit below the level of his Warwick effort when last seen at Wincanton, but that was still a creditable run, and he looks to have the best chance on form here. He has started looking a little more straightforward of late after initially being perceived as a hard ride and is taken to finally record a win, with Venetia Williams’s new recruit Cock A Doodle Doo looking the likeliest danger.
14:25 Ludlow – Enrilo
Enrilo won two of his three starts in bumpers and overcame inexperience to make a successful debut over hurdles at Wincanton last month. Paul Nicholls’ recruit is potentially smart and there could be plenty more to come from this promising type in this sphere as he looks to win back-to-back races.
14:55 Ludlow – Bobo Mac
Bobo Mac returns to action on a decent mark and it is hard to think that he doesn’t have a big run in him over fences here. The dual hurdle winner looks to have a good chance on the pick of his form and ran well on return last season in a good Newbury handicap, so clearly goes well fresh. Marble Moon arrives here in search of a hat-trick and rates as the main danger to the selection.
15:30 Ludlow – Rowland Ward
After reaching a fairly useful level on the Flat, Rowland Ward makes his jumps debut for a new stable here after connections went to 75,000 guineas to acquire him last month. He ran below form at Thirsk last time, but had shaped well on previous occasions and is an interesting contender in this sphere. His previous free-going ways will hopefully have been curtailed now he is up in trip and taking on a new discipline.
16:00 Ludlow – Stamp Your Feet
Stamp Your Feet looks to have been given a real chance by the handicapper back in this sphere after not taking to chasing as expected. He has previously won off 9lb higher than the mark he faces today and could be worth chancing to regain the winning thread if perked up by a break. He arrives here on the back of a wind operation and, though apprentice jockey Noel George’s 3lb claim is not the biggest in the race, it is advantageous nonetheless.
