Horse Racing tips: 3 best bets at Clonmel from our racing traders

A trio from our trading insiders.

Clonmel 13:40 – Port Rashid

Champion Jockey Paul Townend teams up with his father Tim in this handicap hurdle.

Port Rashid is a proven heavy ground performer and made an encouraging seasonal debut at Cork. He should strip fitter for that run and has previously run with credit at Clonmel so looks to have plenty of positives in this contest.

Clonmel 14:15 – Cloudy Morning

Some big stables represented in this contest but I will go with Cloudy Morning from the ultra-shrewd Declan Queally stable. Better known as a chaser these days, this horse performed with credit on it’s latest start in the Paddy Power Cork National.

They can race off a much reduced rating at Clonmel while Simon Torrens further reduces the weight. A previous course winner and proven mudlark, Cloudy Morning can make a bold bid for their supporters.

Clonmel 15:20 – Shattered Love

The 2018 JLT Chase winner at the Cheltenham Festival didn’t manage to win during her first season as a fully fledged chaser last season. However, she ran with credit on numerous occasions including when chasing home Min in the John Durkan Chase.

Shattered Love was a tad disappointing on her return in Gowran Park. However, competing against her own sex here on heavy ground should see her notch a first success in 18 months.
