Traders’ Tips: A tasty quartet of picks for Saturday’s racing extravaganza

Lovely, lovely tips.

Mustajeer

Goodwood 14:05

Beat Le Bon was a very impressive winner of the Golden Mile Handicap at Goodwood last time and he looks up to this step up in class to Group 2 level.

The time recorded in that handicap win was very decent (half a second faster than Duke Of Hazzard on the same card, who re-opposes here), and it was his second win at Goodwood, which bodes well for his return.

Newmarket 14:45

Moraawed was very impressive on the clock last time when beating a useful type in Qaysar (has won twice since) at Sandown and he looks capable of going in again off just a four-pound higher mark.

York 15:40

I’ve picked out two at bigger prices that look worth backing each way given we’re paying 7 places: Raymond Tusk and Mustajeer.

Raymond Tusk has some very solid form in group races and comes here off the back of a very respectable run behind Stradivarius in the Gold Cup. This could be his ideal trip and both his draw and run style are positives for his chances.

Mustajeer is similar, with some good form in group races though he’s been left on a good mark of 108, for Ger Lyons, who doesn’t tend to bring them over for the craic.

York 17:20

Moss Gill would look very well treated here off a mark of 88, with the useful Angus Villiers taking off an additional 7 pounds.

He was just touched off at Newmarket last time though may have found the 6f too far, so this drop to 5f at a track he’s proven at looks ideal.
