Matt Chapman: This 9/1 shot can prove his bottle in Saturday’s Stewards Cup

Justanotherbottle can go one better than last year's second place in the big betting race at Goodwood (3.40pm).

Matt Chapman Cheltenham

A bust Saturday on the main ITV network with six races to enjoy including the conclusion of Glorious Goodwood and a couple of events from Newmarket.

Let’s get straight to it, and the 1.50pm at Goodwood is a handicap over 6f. BOY IN THE BAR likes Goodwood and is still well handicapped on some old form despite a success at Ayr last time. He has hit form at the right time for the excellent Ian Williams and Ryan Moore is a good booking. Have a few quid each-way .

Next at Goodwood is another handicap at 2.25pm, this time over 1m 6f. I am sure CORGI has a decent prize in him and this could be his day. He was gelded earlier in the campaign and has run two decent races for Hughie Morrison at Ascot and York. Every chance.

The 3.00pm at Goodwood is a Group 2 over 1m 6f. I have a feeling MANUELA DE VEGA has been crying out for this trip, and while she might prefer some more juice in the ground she has a fabulous chance for Ralph Beckett and Harry Bentley, who is having a great season. She was tight for room when fourth in the Epsom Oaks earlier in the year.

And finally at Goodwood the big betting race of the day, the Stewards’ Cup over 6f at 3.40pm. JUSTANOTHERBOTTLE was rated 101 when second in this last year and is now down to 97. He’s been out of form of late for Declan Carroll, but it would be a fair guess this has been the main target and he can go well for James Doyle. I will have an each-way wager in a race where Paddy is paying the first 6 home.

Meanwhile, at Newmarket, ITV show the 2.05pm, a Listed contest over 1m 4f. BELLA VITA has a few pounds to find on ratings but is in such good form for Eve Johnson Houghton that I am not going to oppose. She was impressive at Ascot on her last outing.

And also at Newmarket is the 2.40pm, a handicap over 6f. A wide-open race. Without many confidence I will go with KNOW NO LIMITS to hit the frame. Jane Elliott takes off 3lb for Tom Dascombe and my hope was in good form over 7f at Chester last time.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
