Jason Weaver: Circus can top Too Darn Hot at Goodwood on Wednesday

We reckon he always wanted to be a ringmaster.

Jason Weaver Flat Racing

Goodwood 13:50 – Fun Mac @ 12/1

Has been around a while but is starting to finally look well handicapped and now sits on an attractive mark. This is an extreme test of stamina and he ran well in the Group One Cadran over a similar distance and hit the line strong. They will be strung out like washing and he can get a slice of the action at an each-way price for trainer Hughie Morrison.

Goodwood 14:25 – Durston @ 15/2

Managed to get a win on the board at Doncaster despite the stable being woefully out of form and followed that with another smooth success at Chester, showing tactical pace. He was pulled out of the race a week ago because of quick underfoot conditions and everything looks perfect for this improving three-year-old at Goodwood.

Goodwood 15:00 – Liberty Beach @ 7/4

Was unlucky at Royal Ascot as she managed to win ‘her’ race on the far side in the Queen Mary. That form is rock-solid and has been rubber-stamped since. She sluiced up 26 days ago at Sandown, quickly putting daylight between herself and the rest of the field. She’s all about raw speed and has the perfect draw close to the fence on Wednesday.

Goodwood 15:35 – Circus Maximus @ 5/2

It was one of the training performances of the season to drop this runner back to win over a mile at Royal Ascot and I cannot believe he’s been overlooked in the market!  Too Darn Hot only just gets the mile trip and surely they will make this a proper test to exploit that chink in the favourite’s armour.

The 5/2 with Paddy looks a very good price indeed.
