A smart 23/1 Tuesday treble from our horse racing traders

They're looking at a trio across Ballinrobe, Chelmsford and Southwell, including a 7/2 shot in the 7.00

Red Royalist

Ballinrobe 19:00

Chaparral Dream, 75-rated on the all-weather, has taken well to hurdling to date, finishing 3rd in his first two runs in handicap company.

This looks a little weaker than his previous two outings, so with the weight concession he’s receiving and being the only 4-year-old in the race, he should go close.

Chelmsford 19:20

Lady Lawyer, a $150k US-bred filly showed smart form to get off the mark on racecourse debut in October.

Having been off the track since, she was unable to defy a penalty at Doncaster last month when briefly outpaced before running on strongly under hands and heels.

While this race looks every bit as deep as that Doncaster run, I would expect plenty of improvement and the step up in trip also looks certain to suit.

Interesting types from the yards of Stoute, Hagaas and Bin Suroor should ensure that this one returns a fair price and should prove hard to beat with man of the moment Frankie Dettori doing the steering.

Southwell 20:10

Red Royalist was given an opening handicap mark of 120, which allows him to sneak into this class 4 handicap hurdle off top weight.

He ran respectably in a pair of good winter novice hurdles and after winning a very weak novice hurdle he ran really well to finish second on the flat at Ffos Las last month. While this is a decent little race I would expect Red Royalist to be able to hold his own off this mark in the winter when the better NH horses are about – so he ought to be most competitive here.

The yard are in decent nick and a big run is expected.
