Matt Chapman: It’s worth heeding King’s Advice at 12/1 on Friday

It's hotting up a fraction on ITV3 this Friday with six races on offer from Newmarket and York and there's surely something for everyone.

Matt Chapman Cheltenham

Let’s get straight to it, and the 1.50pm at Newmarket is a handicap over 1m2f. I’ll take a chance here with ALMASHRIQ (8/1), who might be thrown in off his current rating if liking this trip as he goes up from a mile. John Gosden trains and he finished off well over 1m last time.

Next up at Newmarket is the 2.25pm, a Group 2 over 6f for juveniles. Albany heroine DAAHYEH (11/8) looked good at the Royal meeting and can remain unbeaten for Roger Varian. The daughter of Bated Breath looks good enough to see this lot off.

The 3.00pm at Newmarket is a handicap over 1m6f. KING’S ADVICE (12/1) could not keep a good run going in the Northumberland Plate when only sixth for Mark Johnston. But he still suggested he was in good form and might well hit the frame here each-way.

And finally at Newmarket the Group 1 Falmouth is over 1m at 3.35pm. This a poor renewal in my book, and a back to form QABALA (11/8) would take all the beating. The 1000 Guineas third flopped in Ireland last time for Roger Varian, but she can handle these if ridden close to the pace as the field lacks a front-runner.

Over at York, ITV3 show the 2.40pm, a handicap over 1m4f. DURSTON (3/1) is the improver in this field, and he can score for Dave Simcock. I life this runner as he stays super strong but had the pace to win around Chester. Every chance of a hat-trick.

And finally at York the 3.15pm is the Group 3 Summer Stakes over 6f. ARCHER’S DREAM (11/4) faces her biggest test to date, but has been well handled by James Fanshawe and can make it four on the bounce. She was good at Salisbury last time.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
