The Coral Eclipse is the feature race today with the highly-anticipated return of Enable making for an intriguing renewal, supported by an excellent card at Sandown.
Here’s what we fancy at Sandown and Haydock!
14:25- Sandown
Very open handicap though we quite liked both Lush Life and Petrus here, with the former probably rating a better bet. She has very good course form and still looks on a fair mark, with the right type of jockey booked for the ride that she’ll require to challenge.
15:35 Sandown
The negatives about Enable tomorrow are the trip being on the short side, the ground being on the fast side and it being her first run of the season against race-fit rivals. The one we reckon has the best chance of turning her over is Magical, who looks well clear of the rest on her second place in the Prince of Wales Stakes at Ascot. She has had plenty of runs this season, though she took her racing very well last year, and there is every chance she could produce a career-best tomorrow. She looks a solid each-way bet, as it’s very hard to see her out of the top three at the very least.
14:05 Haydock
Sir Ron Priestley was one we were quite keen on here in a race where Mark Johnston trains four of the seven runners. He went off at a short price in a much better race than this at Royal Ascot and although he was disappointing, he had excuses – with the slower ground being the main one. He gets the ground tomorrow, on a track he has form at and should take plenty of beating.
14:40 Haydock
We quite like Klassique here for William Haggas, who’s been in excellent form of late. She hammered True Self at the track last time and if she can replicate close to that run, on different ground, she should be very difficult to beat. Danny Tudhope has picked her over Dramatic Queen, who he rode last time when beating Enbihaar, which is another big positive for Klassique.
