Jason Weaver: This Class act can outrun Magical at Royal Ascot

The Shark fancies a Haggas charge to upset the favourite at 3.40

Sea of Class

I was lucky enough to be at Windsor when Emten made her racecourse debut and despite being green she ran out a ready winner. I cannot for the life of me see why she is such a big price, as from a physical standpoint she will not look out of place in the paddock.

50/1 represents massive each-way value.

Jalmoud needed every inch of the mile and a half last time in France to get on top late in the day. He definitely comes under their low mileage improver, Moonlight Spirit, only having his fourth start today, also being proven under both quick and soft conditions so with changeable weather we have all bases covered.

Sea of Class has been nothing short of remarkable in a short career to date rounding off with an excellent second to Enable in the Arc.

Put it this way what price would Enable be in here? Has to be Evens or shorter, no? She won’t lack for fitness and has a class edge in here – it’s time she stamped that class on the rest.

Rawdaa has quickly risen in the ratings from 83 to 109, going from strength to strength – and she’s not at her top end yet. Frankie Dettori comes in for a great spare ride with Ryan Moore booked for Aidan O’Brien on I Can Fly.

Rawdaa was only outpointed by an in for Lah Ti Dah at York on her second try this term, and she will be cherry ripe for this assignment.

New Graduate comes in as the proverbial group horse in a handicap – having just four starts it was a massive performance up at Ripon and the handicapper has obviously taken note, raising him 15lbs in the process.

However that shouldn’t halt this runaway train storming up the straight here and it would be no surprise to see him line up in the Queen Anne next year. That’s how highly they rate him.

Interestingly, Platinum Star‘s two starts so far have been over 6f but will have no problem dropping to the minimum judging by the ease with which he traveled at Leicester last time.

These races can often be won in the first half of the contest and it looks to be set up perfectly with the USA runner, Temple Of Heaven, in 18 and Electric Ladyland drawn in 20. We should get a perfect early toe and be able to pounce late with the French ace up.
