Clay Regazzoni can put us in the driving seat on Tuesday at Thirsk

He's a short-price fav to deliver on the promise he showed on his seasonal debut - but a winner's a winner right?

5.50 Thirsk

He’s a short enough price in early trading but Clay Regazzoni should be extremely difficult to beat for Keith Dalgliesh and Kevin Stott. He ran a very promising race on debut when second to what could be an exciting prospect in Lord Of The Lodge, with the pair eight lengths clear of the third horse home. The time in that 6f race race at Ayr on good to firm ground backed up the visuals of the performance for the grade.

I’d be very surprised if he’s not good enough to win what looks a weak maiden today.

Anthony Brittain’s Mutabaahy is not the easiest horse to win with though he looks to have everything in his favour here and could be set to go close off a mark of 67. That’s only 2lbs higher than when a winner over course and distance last year. He can be quite slowly away at times but there looks to be a lot of pace on here and I can see the race setting up very nicely for him.

Looks a good each-way bet.
