Matt Chapman: This posh filly’s Arc journey begins at York on Thursday

Matt's confident about this one

The ITV cameras are back at York on Thursday – with one event thrown in from Salisbury as well – so once again there are winners to be found in the sunshine.

Let’s get straight to it, and the 1.50pm at York is a handicap over 5f. LINE OF REASON is an old boy now at the age of nine, but he stayed on well from off the pace last time and he’s on a very winnable mark. Worth a few quid eachway for Paul Midgley.

Next up is the 2.25pm from York, a Group 2 over an extended 1m2f. No doubt I have to be all over the St Leger runner-up LAH TI DAR who should be far too good for this lot. Every chance she could turn into an Arc filly for John Gosden this term.

It’s the Group 2 Derby trial known as the Dante over an extended 1m2f at 3.00pm, and all eyes on Dewhurst winner TOO DARN HOT. There’s every chance Japan will give him a race, but last season’s top juvenile always looked as though 1m2f wouldn’t be an issue and if that is the case – and despite a setback that ruled out the 2000 Guineas – he should outclass his rivals under Frankie Dettori.

Finally at York the 3.35pm, a handicap over 1m. A strong gallop will suit LEDHAM, who went up 1lb for finishing second at Haydock on seasonal debut. Every chance of going one better for Sir Michael Stoute.

Meanwhile, ITV show the 2.10pm at Salisbury, a handicap over 1m2f. FRISELLA seems obvious here as a horse with proven stamina. She looked promising for Johnny G at Chelmsford and quite a few rivals have suspect stamina.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
