Hall of Fame: Racing punter packs a punch to hit Paddy for €80k

Ruby mightn't be the only one who is giving up the day job...

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power suffered a knockout blow at Punchestown this evening when an online customer hit them for €80, 344 payday.

The punters Bank Holiday kicked off early when they placed a €2 each-way Lucky 15 on four horses running on day three of the Kildare racing festival.

The Co. Louth based customer  got the party started by backing Polished Steel in the 15.40.

Snugsborough Hall took the next and Ballybroker Bridge followed up by ripping his rivals apart in the 16.50.
But it was Unowhatimeanharry’s impressive return to form in the feature race of the day that clinched the eye-watering total for the racing fan.

“We’re delighted for this customer. But between this and Ruby’s shock retirement yesterday, we’re not sure we can take anymore,” a spokesperson for Paddy Power said.
