Jason Weaver: Let’s get some cash in the Satchel with this 10/1 chance at Dundalk

The Weaver Shark fancies Beau Satchel (7pm) to get competitive under the Friday night lights at Fundalk ...

Jason Weaver

6:00 Dundalk Mcguigan

Comes from the Bolger team that is really starting to really hit its stride. Although he’s got plenty of experience, he’s not had much racing over this 1m 2f trip and that is key to any untapped potential.  He’s a straightforward spin and the master trainer is using him to give the young lads in the yard a chance. Gavin Ryan is aboard and looking to double his tally in 2019.

6:45 Kempton Sunblazer

He’s not getting any younger and looks as if he’s fallen out with the game of late, so what do you do? Well, his trainer has booked the hottest rider in England at the moment in Adam Kirby, to revive him.

Two of Sunblazer’s impressive seven wins have come at this venue so a big effort is anticipated.

7:00 Dundalk Beau Satchel

Ran a respectable race when third at Wolverhampton last time. Looks on a very attractive handicap mark back on home soil and is taken to keep the stable’s hot run going.

I’m not expecting him to get back up to a low 80’s rating in the future – but he can cash in off a mark of 59 on Friday night.

7:30 Dundalk Alfirak

Is proving another little gem picked up for only 8000 guineas by his excellent handler. This lad is already looking for win number three and is flexible regards tactics and the wide draw is not such a big issue over this trip.

Given he’s drawn in the car park, that will only push his price out and make him all the more attractive for a knocking each-way punt.

7:45 Kempton Sugar Plum Fairy

Is going to be overlooked at decent each-way odds in the last at Kempton because of a poor finishing effort at Wolverhampton last week. A closer look at the replay shows that she never got any run whatsoever, from off the pace behind a horse who got a dream run up the fence.

Reunited with Nicola Currie again, the combination could cause an upset.

8:30 Dundalk Clare Island

Won in good fashion two starts back and wasn’t disgraced here latest in a much stronger contest.

The early stages of the race cost her last time and if she can at least get away on terms her chance improves massively. With just eight tries on the all weather she’s not reached her ceiling rating yet so there may be more to come.
