Ruby Walsh: Kempton’s card packs a punch on Boxing day

Ruby runs through some of the high profile races from the UK's biggest post-Christmas meeting, where the King George gets stop billing....

Santini looks like a fairly exciting horse who was very good good on his debut.

That said, there’s three runners that can come on here: The Worlds End, La Bague Au Roi, and Topofthegame.

They’re three fair horses.

I think Santini is short enough at the price for the quality of the opposition he’s taking on. I don’t think it represents much value though.

He could end up being the best horse, but I don’t think he’s worth it.

I’m not saying Kempton will be too tight for him, I just think Getabird is taking on two horses in Limerick and he’s the same price.

Buveur D’Air is 2/7 as well. In terms of what these horses have to do, I’d rather be backing him than Santini.

For value, I’d look at The World’s End. He’s a hardened horse and he could be the one.

Buveur D’Air looks like a NAP. He’s won this race last year. He’s a very, very good hurdler and it should be straightforward for him.

Barry Geraghty’s on board. He’ll probably have one eye on March, so he’ll be trying to win tomorrow but he’ll be happy to just do enough.

There’s no such thing as a slowly run King George. There’s no hiding place out there in this race.

They just go a good gallop and they keep building it up all the way. Horses seem to crack in this race, more so than one picks up and goes away.

Whoever can keep running goes on and wins.

Might Bite has the natural ability, but you’ve Native River as well, and the more I look at it, the more I like him. He’s the form horse.

I could see Tea For Two running into the money at 25/1.
