Ruby Walsh: Morgiana Hurdle not a ‘must win’ for Samcro

With the run under his belt Samcro is going to be difficult to beat.

Saldier running so well last week will give us a good guide as to where our winter horses are in terms of fitness.

But you’d have to imagine Samcro will have improved a good bit from Down Royal. Our runners are going to have to be at that level to beat him.

But it’s a funny time of the year.

It’s only his second run out of novice company and he’s entitled to be improving experience-wise as well.

Whatever way you look at it, he’d been winning races easy as a novice so he probably never had a proper race until Down Royal.

This will be another step up against classier horses again and he’ll be learning his job too.

I wouldn’t call it a must-win but I’m sure connections would love to see him get his head in front.
